NYT Crossplay Cheat & Word Finder
Crossplay word solver and cheat: unscramble candidates and check definitions as you go.
Ready When You Are
Type scrambled letters, then click Fix Jumble to search the dictionary.
Crossplay-style puzzles mix crossword instincts with letter pools. Use this word finder and cheat tool to turn a leftover jumble into plausible fills so you can test answers against the grid without losing momentum.
Crossplay Solver for Letter Pools
Drop the available letters into the box and search. Use Word Length to mirror the entry size you are solving. Prefix and Suffix mirror known crossings from the grid.
Definitions help when two anagrams both fit the letters but only one matches the clue sense. Treat the list as a Crossplay cheat sheet, then play the word that fits the board.
Narrow the Solver Results
Open Options beside Fix Jumble when you need control. Must Include forces letters you already know belong on the board. Prefix and Suffix lock the start or end of the word. Word Length trims the range so you only see sizes that fit the slot you are filling.
Filters stack. If nothing comes back, loosen one constraint and search again. Use ? or * for blank tiles, and the on-screen keyboard when you are on mobile.
Try the Word Finder
Type LISTEN (or your own rack), then hit Fix Jumble. You should see length groups with many more words than this small sample:
| Length | Sample Words |
|---|---|
| 6-Letter | ENLIST, LISTEN, SILENT |
| 5-Letter | LINES |
| 4-Letter | LENS |
| 3-Letter | NET, SET |
For Crossplay-style fills, lock known crossings with Prefix or Suffix before you browse the list.
